Step inside one of Paris's most powerful monuments and experience Napoleon Bonaparte's extraordinary story in the place built to honour it. The Hôtel des Invalides — with its gleaming golden dome visible from across the city — is home to the Musée de l'Armée, one of the world's great military history museums, and the spectacular Dôme Church where Napoleon has rested since 1861. Your licensed guide brings the Napoleon galleries to life: the campaigns that reshaped Europe, the reforms that created modern France, the uniforms, maps, and personal artefacts of a man who ruled an empire. Then you step beneath the gilded dome into one of Paris's most solemn and breathtaking spaces. Your guide tells the full story - the Russian campaign, the defeat at Waterloo, the years of exile on Saint Helena, and the 19-year journey to return his remains to the city he loved. With a maximum of 8 guests, this tour moves at your pace. There's time for questions, for lingering in front of the details that catch your eye, and for the kind of conversation that doesn't happen in a group of 30. This is Paris Unscripted - intimate, unhurried, and told by guides who know this building inside out.
