Embark on an unforgettable guided tour of Valletta's vibrant streets, where you will uncover the enchanting beauty and distinctive charm of Malta's capital city, a fortified marvel built by the Knights of St. John in 1566. For 268 years, the Order of the Knights of St. John ruled over the islands, leaving behind a rich cultural and architectural legacy that is epitomised in Valletta. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city stands as a testament to nearly five centuries of history and is often regarded as an open-air museum. Valletta is a feast for the senses, boasting imposing fortifications and bastions, awe-inspiring baroque palaces, stunning churches, lush gardens, and a captivating mix of architectural styles ranging from mid-16th-century baroque to modernism. Without a doubt, Valletta is one of the most extraordinary and charming cities you will ever explore. As you stroll through the bustling streets, you'll have the opportunity to admire the stunning buildings—many of which date back to the 16th century—and the city’s unique architectural character, which blends baroque aesthetics with elements of Mannerist, Neo-Classical, and Modern designs. A visit to the upper Barrakka gardens is essential; here, you can take in breathtaking views of the majestic Grand Harbour. Your journey will also lead you to MUŻA, the National Museum of Fine Arts. Nestled within the historic Auberge d'Italie, this museum showcases a diverse collection of works from both Maltese and international artists. You’ll find masterpieces that span major European artistic styles from the 15th century to the early 21st century, including captivating paintings, exquisite sculptures, elegant furniture, silver pieces, and intriguing objets d’art. You will also visit the Collegiate Parish Church of St. Paul’s Shipwreck, one of Valletta’s oldest churches, which traces its origins back to the 1570s and was completed in 1582. Inside, you’ll be awed by the magnificent marble interiors and an array of artistic treasures, including the stunning altarpiece by Matteo Perez d’Aleccio, works by Attilio Palombi and Giuseppe Calì, and the revered statue of St. Paul, carved in 1659.
